Our Vision

Winter Wonderland Blues is an event where Blues dancers come together to improve their dancing and enjoy each others company in a festive atmosphere, but due to the date changed to a welcoming the spring event. We want to celebrate our reunion, dance together and enjoy a wonderful feast.

For teaching we present to you the amazing Vicci & Adamo, two of the best Blues dance teachers in Europe.

We also want to celebrate the people who gifted us with this wonderful music and dance by including African American teachers and performers into our event.

Come and celebrate the coming of spring with us!

Yours,
Kim, Leonie, Lorenz, Anja, Yasmin, Mahdi and Andrea

Tracks

Two Blues dance workshop tracks with 6 hours of classes each are waiting for you at Winter Wonderland Blues:

  • Intermediate Track
  • Advanced Track

What track is the right one for me?

Our teachers have provided a guideline for you to determine where you are standing:

Intermediate:

You have taken blues classes before, dance blues socially and have attended a few (or more) workshops. You're ready to develop your understanding of the blues, improve your technique and widen your dancing vocabulary!

Advanced:

You go to regular blues classes, have attended international workshops and you dance blues regularly. You have a sound understanding of the blues and solid technique and you're ready for more!

In addition there will be remote class by Damon Stone about the aesthetics and cultural values of Blues dancing as well as a musicality class taught by Stef Rosen (see stretch goals). These classes are open to bothe tracks as well as people holding a party pass.

What do I do if I am a beginner?

We recommend, get yourself a Party ticket and book a private class with Vicci and/or Adamo. When you are at the beginning of your journey into Blues dancing having a private class with lots of personal feedback from these great teachers will bring you from zero to hero.

Privates can be booked in the registration form.

About our teachers

Adamo & Vicci

Adamo & Vicci

From AdamoAndVicci.com about Vicci Moore and Adamo Ciarallo:

We are international blues dance instructors; teaching, performing and dancing with as many people as possible at Blues and Swing dance events worldwide.

Blues dance is our passion. We love the connection you share with another person when you dance, we love the freedom of improvisation, we love throwing down to live music in the early hours of the morning. But most of all, we love passing this passion onto other people and witnessing the joy it brings them.

Blues is an African American music and dance. As teachers who are not from this culture we will never stop educating ourselves about the history, cultural values and the social context of the dance. We strive to pass on what we are learning to our students in classes by connecting the dance to its historical roots and cultural values.

We truly believe that if everyone danced the blues the world would be a better place!

Damon Stone

Damon Stone

From damonstone.dance about Damon Stone:

Damon is largely regarded as one of the foremost authorities on Blues idiom dance, a long time board member of the Northern California Lindy Society, former member of the California Historical Jazz Dance Foundation, and has been interviewed as a dance historian in documentary and for radio. Damon has been a featured instructor at camps, festivals, and workshops across five continents.

Damon has been dancing his entire life, starting with vernacular Jazz/Blues first taught to him at the tender age of six by his grandmother. After nearly a decade of learning at the heels of his elders, he went on and eventually studied a score of different dance forms until coming full circle in 1995 to focus primarily on the history and styles of Swing and Blues as his family danced them with a special focus on the Southern styles from the Mississippi Delta region. He has studied the development of vernacular Jazz/Blues dance across the United States learning from a number of the original dancers.

Stef Rosen

Stef Rosen

From slidinwolf.com about Stef Rosen:

Stef Rosen is a guitar player and singer from Berlin, Germany. His way of composing, playing and arranging is inspired by the soulful electric blues from the late 60s and early 70s.

He looks at the tradition of this music with a personal and respectful attitude. He is constantly touring around the World, playing in blues clubs, Festival, and blues dance events as solo artist or collaborating with other great musicians and bands.

He has been constantly touring non-stop..from New York to Seoul, from London to Moscow .. anywhere people need to dance their blues away!
